Hi! My name is Silje and my art name is Sil3D.

I came up with Sil3D because I started drawing patterns on my computer and started 3D-printing them. I started doing that a few months ago, then paused it and started painting. Now I do both but mostly painting. I paint and because I now have created standard 3D-print designs, I let the 3D-printer print while I paint a canvas. A 3D print generally takes up to 3 hours, while painting takes way longer.

About me and my art. I am a 20 year old "self taught artist", I actually started using my creativity a few months ago. I have never followed any classes or anything. I just started doing it because I have ideas and I found out that I like being busy doing creative things.

I would describe my art as free because I just have a vague idea in my head or sometimes nothing but just colours, I start, I do not follow a plan and most of the time don't make any sketches and it slowly becomes something. Most of the time it becomes something totally different than I thought I saw it becoming. On the way I get other ideas or things I want to add. Sometimes they fail but for me this is my style. When I was a child, I never liked a colouring plate with lines, I wanted a blank paper and draw freely. I think that is what I do now too :)

For paintings, I first started doing watercolour paintings. Then I started doing acrylic paint. Then I started spray painting backgrounds and painting acrylics on there. Sometimes I add other elements, like for instance shells on a beach painting. And now I do all different things. I have every time other ideas, I think because I am so new to this but maybe I will always be like this. There is not really a general name for my style, that is why I divided it in collections afterwards. But I think overall my art has something elegant, mysterious and warm. 

For the 3D-printing, I first started drawing designs with my trackpad on an app, printing it with PLA filament and it "failed" everytime. I knew it was part of the process to find a good design but I am not patient and every time it was not what I wanted. Then after a while I finally started having nice designs because of more knowledge and started printing them in ASA filament and spray painting them. Which are the ones I now show on here.

I also clay and then paint it.

So, I basically started doing all kinds of things since a few months and now I have a website and an instagram page where I can show it.
