About Me

How to Contact

Hii, I am Silje and my artist name is Sil3D.

I came up with Sil3D because I started drawing patterns on my computer and started 3D-printing them. Now, I mostly paint with a side of 3D-prints and clay.

About me and my art. I am a 21 year old "self taught artist", which I feel funny saying because I just started. I actually started really using my creativity for the first time in March 2026. I have never painted and now it's what I do alot and love. I use painting to express myself by letting myself be free while painting. I have never followed any painting classes, I don't like that, I paint intuitive. Creativity for me is very important to put in this case on canvas instead of only having ideas. Most of the time, my creativity, ideas and inspiration thrive when I am busy painting, expressing myself. Creativity thrives Creativity. Most of the time I have alot of ideas that keep on going and going, sometimes overwhelming, but I use a selection those for my paintings. And sometimes I forget what I wanted to do initially haha.

I don't have a certain style, it goes from abstract to jazz ladies to flowers etc. I would describe my art as free. I have made alot of paintings where I just start with a vague idea of colours, a certain vibe/feeling and just see where it goes. But sometimes I have a painting where I make a sketch. In between painting I get so many more ideas, I sometimes have to write them down. And sometimes I start with no idea at all and it immediately sorts itself out. I just do what I feel like doing and that's why I call it free. I try not to play it safe by try to listen to what I want and not thinking of opinions of others. Painting is something private for me. When the painting is done I sometimes show it on my Instagram and website, which I really enjoy (also connecting with beautiful artists). But then, when people are in person looking at my art, it sometimes feels too personal, I am not used to that yet. It's like a piece of me that is not made to fit in feels like it's compared to those exact standards I don't want to comply to. Anyway, I am working on that! And I love it when people love my paintings, it makes me happy. The end result is important of course, I want to like it but what I want more is expressing myself, letting myself be free while painting. The process is what I love and what makes a painting. So you can imagine that I hate AI with a passion :D. I love a blank canvas and paint!

I can't explain my inspiration because sometimes it's just really random. Sometimes I just think of a memory, I hear a song that gives me a certain feeling, sometimes I am inspired by sea, sun, flowers, spring, summer, beaches. It depends. Sometimes Vague, Sometimes clear. Sometimes one inspiration, sometimes a mixture of everything. I never paint from any reference. I don't like that. When I was a child, I never liked a colouring plate with lines, I wanted a blank paper and draw freely. I think that is now the same concept.

For paintings, I first started doing watercolour paintings. Then I started doing acrylics. Then I started spray painting backgrounds and painting acrylics on there. Then mixed media, poster and pastels. Now I do everything. Every time I have other ideas, I think because I am so new, experimenting with all mediums, but maybe I will always be like this. I don't have one art-style name for my art because everything is so different. But I do have series like "Jazz Ladies", "Metallic Acrylic contrast", etc. One thing they have in common and that is me.

For the 3D-printing, I first started drawing designs with my trackpad on an app, printing it with PLA filament and it "failed" everytime. I knew it was part of the process to find a good design but I am not patient and every time it was not what I wanted. Then after a while I finally started having nice designs because of more knowledge and started printing them in ASA filament and spray painting them. Which are the ones I now show on here.

I also like using clay and sometimes I make painted clay bulbs with swirls on them or little vases for dry flowers.

Long story short, I basically started doing all kinds of things since March 2026, I have a website now and an instagram page. I had no experience with anything but I just did it.

That was little about me & my art <3
